How we respond to traumatic or difficult events is our own “normal” and that’s OK. Whether you are experiencing trauma and/or distress related to the death of a loved one, the loss of a significant connection, conflict in your relationships, or disruptions to your “normal” Kim will join with you as you hone your coping skills for navigating hardship and change. Kim’s theoretical view is framed from both humanistic and existential perspectives; believing that all people have the potential to heal, grow, and thrive. You can get relief from the hurt and sadness of trauma and adversity.
Counseling and consultation build on strengths you already have and fosters your ability to identify what is getting in the way, gain new insight, cope, and/or make changes. Counseling services may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Talk Therapy (NTT), and Evidence-based Relationship Factors (EBRFs) skill development.
Kim most often works with people who range in age from early adulthood throughout the lifespan and welcome all populations regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. Her services include: Individual, couple, and family counseling; Parenting Plan mediation, and Consultation for families affected by traumatic events.
