Licensed Massage Therapist
Kathryn Mills MS, LMT has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 23 years. In addition to her continued massage training, she obtained a B.A. degree in Cognitive Psychology and a M.S. degree in Health Promotion. This was part of her extended effort to get an in-depth understanding of the ‘whole’ human being.
Based on her strong belief in the mind-body-spirit connection and in our power to ultimately heal ourselves, she is led to help clients to reach higher health potentials through removing blocks that may hinder healing- thusly furthering their own healing away from injury, pain, dis-ease, and the stresses put on the physical body. She also supports and encourages client’s healing through self-knowledge, healthy practices, and community education.
Kathryn utilizes many modalities and ‘tools’ in bodywork and intuitively blends these to best help meet client’s needs on an individual level. The modalities she has specifically trained in include, but are not limited to:
- Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage
- Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy
- Massage Cupping
- Abhyanga- Ayurvedic Massage
- Aromatherapy
- Therapeutic Reflexology
- Reiki- Level II
- Craniosacral Therapy- Level II
- PNF (Facilitated Stretching)
- Somatic Emotional Clearing/ Polarity Therapy
Her own journey with healing led to this path. She grew up in Virginia and the Washington DC area with a foreign diplomat father who exposed the family to world travel. Living in Manila, Philippines in the mid-80s and traveling extensively throughout SE Asia and Europe, at a young age she discovered a love for the healing arts and experienced massage and Chinese medicine’s benefits first-hand. In suffering from injuries in several auto accidents, Kathryn received subsequent physical, massage, and chiropractic therapies. First-hand, she witnessed the power of touch and Complementary Medicines. In time, she knew that she wanted to support and help others in this healing way.
After finishing a Psychology undergraduate degree, Kathryn graduated from The Utah College of Massage Therapy in 1996. She found her way to Missoula that year and has practiced in this amazing Montana community since. It is wonderful that you are considering massage as part of your health and wellness program. Kathryn is happy to talk to you about how massage may benefit you.
